Now Showing in Theaters is Not What’s Showing in the Writer’s Room


As eager audience members grab their popcorn and head into the theater, their screens have been upgraded to reflect more diverse groups. To fans, it appears as though production companies and directors are making significant strides in improving the diversity and inclusion amongst their casting. Shows like The Good Place have replaced the all-white sitcoms of Friends and Seinfeld with diverse casts full of different races and sexual orientations. However, many moviegoers and TV viewers don’t realize that despite the diversity shown on screen, it’s incomparable to the lack of diversity in the writer’s room for those films and shows.

Brooches, the Forgotten Accessory


It seems that every season, we find trends, new and old, that suddenly become all the rage. This Spring, we’ve been seeing the return of the brooch! Starting out as cloak fasteners worn by the Celta and Vikings during the Early Medieval period, brooches have been around for a while. Since, they have become a very popular fashion accessory for women worn anywhere from hats to purses. I’ve been seeing so many creative ways to wear this trend and thought that I’d share some of my favorites to inspire you to try it out yourself!
